Navy SEAL Technique to Deal with Change and Reduce Stress
We live in a world where things change so fast that it may be dizzying. If you are dealing with high levels of stress today, try this breathing technique used even by Navy SEALS.
If your day feels like you are in a battle, fighting all the changes and things coming with it, perhaps it could help you as well.
Box breathing.
Step 1: Breathe in and count to four, slowly. Feel the air enter your nostrils, move into your lungs
Step 2: Hold your breath for 4 seconds.
Step 3: Slowly exhale through the nose for 4 seconds.
Step 4: Repeat steps 1 to 3, until you feel a shift in your stress level.
Mark Divine in his book The Way of the Seal – Think Like an Elite Warrior to Lead and Succeed recommends repeating the process for a minimum of five minutes and practicing it until you can do it for up to twenty minutes at a time. Make even a morning ritual and a habit out of it.
In a language of Positive intelligence, by doing so you build your mental muscle that helps you stay mentally strong, calm, and able to take action with laser focus and strength.
Building that mental muscle through different practices will make you more equipped to deal with more ease with any change coming your way.
