The Art of Transforming Our Mistakes
Imagine that all our and our team’s mistakes, flaws, challenges, and cracks we wish did not exist in our desired perfect reality are like cracks in a beautiful art piece.
What is the current “crack” (pain, unpleasant situation) in your professional, business, or personal life?
Now, what would be the gold that would make it whole again, stronger and even more unique and beautiful?
I can share multiple examples when things didn’t go the way I wished – in my business, leadership, in my relationships, in my performance or my health. I’m sure you have plenty of them too!
Let me start the sharing:
The most recent “crack” that I can recollect has been in the area of my physical health. My infected lungs and sinuses seemed to be cracking me up from the inside out and it wasn’t funny (except for my voice at times).
What has been the gold that has been putting me back together? Rest, gratitude for and deep appreciation of the care from others I was receiving, being patient with myself and the process (I tend to struggle with this one), and looking for ways to improve my immunity and help my body heal. Now, almost a month later, I feel so much better again.
And, that “crack” in my health made me realize how I was slipping on my health routine before it happened – and how I often put my work as more important than working out. Often sitting for hours – without much of a break (When I get into the zone, I tend to do that!).
The gold that made me stronger – making health a priority, researching new immunity boosting supplements and support, healthy eating, daily walks, exercise, resting & taking breaks…). In the long run, this “gold” will definitely make me stronger and healthier. The stronger and healthier I am – the more energy I have and the more present I can be with others. The more creative and productive I become. The better support I can provide for others.
What has been your recent or past challenge and what has been the “gold” in it that made things even better than before?
How it supported you in your health, in improving how you show up for yourself, for others? Improved your relationships or productivity?
May this message be a message that inspires both gratitude (looking at the “gold” and the growth, gifts & opportunities that happened as a result of the “crack” in the past) or hope and assurance, that all the mistakes, cracks, and mishaps are a part of the process – part of the art of living, leading and being human.
It hurts at times, even a lot. But it doesn’t mean all is lost and that there is no hope left. It doesn’t make us less worthy. It makes us unique and there is beauty and strength that can be found, once you look for it.
Where in your team can you see strength and beauty? Where in your leadership can you find it?
Thank you for continuing the art of leadership, of life. Let’s build together something beautiful and stronger.
